LOCAL 1995

KROGER CONTRACT UPDATES
Kroger and UFCW Local 1995 Negotiations Update
May 9, 2008
Since April 13th Kroger and the Union have had several meetings. Contract changes have been exchanged by both sides and many of the non economic issues have been settled. The areas of the grievance procedure, city aliments, leaves of absents and progressive discipline have been mostly resolved. As long as the contract is in the negotiation stage all matters are subject to change.
At the last meeting on May 8th, the area of economic issues was opened and discussion started on the areas of previous experience pay and insurance.
The next meetings are set for May 11th to 17th. This will be the longest and toughest part of our negations between the Union and Kroger. The economic issues of insurance will continue. Also wages, pension, holiday pay and vacation pay will be discussed. The contract expires on May 17th. The union hopes to have a final contract to present to the members by then. Meetings would be setup to present the contract to the members.
PLEASE REMEMBER TWO THINGS:
FIRST- THE CONTRACT WILL BE PRESENTED TO ALL MEMBERS TO VOTE ON AFTER THE CONTRACT NEGOTIONS COMMITTEE FEELS IT IS A CONTRACT THE IS A GOOD FAVORIABLE CONTRACR FOR ALL KROGER EMPLOYEEYS.
SECOND- YOU MUST BE A MEMBER OF THE UNION TO BE ABLE TO VOTE ON THE CONTRACT.
You can get phone updates from the union by calling 885-9060 AND ENTER 77 AT ANY TIME.
